Solution
Ice has a taste
- Plastic water lines can give of a taste when first being used
- It may take one or two containers of ice before normal tasting ice is produced. Discard the first two containers of ice after installation.
- If this is newly installed unit make sure you have prime and purged the unit.
Water has a taste
- Newly replaced water filters may give off a taste in the ice and water when first used.
- Make sure you have primed and purged your unit.
Ice and Food has an odor
- Ice can absorb the odor and tastes from strong smelling uncovered food, make sure to always properly cover your food.
- Old ice can become stale tasting, make sure to discard old ice to all the ice maker to produce fresh ice.
Refrigerator has an odor
- Odors in the refrigerator is commonly caused by spoiled foods.
- Always be sure to check the expiration dates on food containers, and discard items that are expired or spoiled.
- If your unit has an air filter, check it and replace if necessary.
