Solution

Is a newly installed unit?

  • Check to ensure all shipping materials have been removed. (Ex. check for Styrofoam underneath the unit and for shipping bolts).
  • Ensure that the unit is level.
  • Floors must be leveled and solid. It is recommended to not place units on carpet, loose plywood, and surfaces that are not stable.
  • If the unit is stacked, please check:
    • The stacking kit is properly installed.
    • The feet on the washer/dryer are completely screwed in.
    • All brackets are screwed tight.
  • Secure the drain hoses with zip ties to keep them from slapping or rubbing.

Common Noises and Descriptions:

  • Occurs if changes are attempted after the cycle starts and is followed by flashing lights.

  • This is a normal sound, when the lid lock becomes engaged or disengaged.

Humming

  • This can be caused by the water valve.
  • Make sure the water turned on flowing.

Knocking

  • Drain hose in unsecured and hitting the back of the unit.
  • Secure the drain hose with zip ties.

Low Humming

  • Drain Pump in use

Rattling or Clanking

  • Rattling and clanking can also be caused by loose or foreign objects such as coins in the washer drum.
  • Try to run an empty cycle to see if the sound continues.
  • Check for belt buckles or other fasteners on clothing items being washed that may cause rattling or clanking sounds.
  • Note: Fasten these items or turn your clothing inside out to reduce sounds.

Thumping Sound

  • Heavier loads may occasionally cause a thumping sound at the beginning of the spin cycle.
NOTE: Double check to make sure the shipping bolts have been removed

Vibrating or Shaking

  • May have an unbalanced load of laundry.
    • The load may be off balance.
    • Turn the power off and wait for the lid to unlock.
    • Redistribute the clothes evenly in the washer.
    • If the load remains out of balance, simply add one or two similar items to the load – especially if it’s a smaller load - and restart the washer.
    • The unit may not be leveled.
      • The washer needs to be resting firmly on the floor.
      • Check to ensure it is level (both front to back and side to side), with each washer leg placed solidly on the floor.
      • You can adjust the leveling legs by simply turning the legs slightly in or out until the washer is firmly on the floor, then tight the lock nuts.
      • Leveling legs should not extend more than ½ inch below the washer bottom.
