Ranges - How do I know what power level to use on my induction cooktop surface?
Applies to
- Ranges
Solution
The Low, Medium, and High settings on a traditional electric cooktop don’t directly translate to induction—other than the basics: lower numbers deliver gentler heat, higher numbers deliver stronger heat. Induction is faster and more responsive, so heat levels feel different compared to electric.
The best way to get comfortable is to use the heat‑setting chart in your Use & Care Manual, which outlines the ideal settings for different cooking tasks. As a general guideline, start with a slightly lower setting than you’d use on an electric range, and keep an eye on your food as you cook. After a few meals, you’ll get a feel for how induction responds—and how quickly it can help you get dinner on the table.
