Oven - Is Not Hot Enough
Issue
- Electric Range - Oven is NOT HOT Enough
- Poor Cooking results
Applies to
- Electric Range Ovens
- Electric Wall Ovens
Solution
If your Frigidaire oven isn’t getting hot enough, it’s often because it’s not receiving the proper power to preheat or because the door gasket isn’t sealing correctly. An oven that struggles to preheat may not be getting full electrical voltage, which can prevent it from reaching and maintaining the right temperature—something that may require checking the installation or contacting an electrician.
Heat loss can also happen if the door gasket is torn, worn, detached, or missing, as the woven material around the door is essential for trapping heat inside the cavity. Avoid rubbing or pulling on the gasket; if it appears compromised, it may need to be replaced. If these issues don’t seem to be the cause, professional service may be the best next step.
If none of these steps resolves the issue, you may have to calibrate the temperature in your oven. Models may vary, so please refer to your Use and Care manual for directions.
